These homes in Amsterdam are about as iconic as this city’s many attractions. Labeled “dancing houses,” they are all pitched this way and that to account for the uncertainty of the canal. This knowledge only leads me to picture a family at dinner, gathered around their table when someone knocks over a bowl of fruit; what might usually be a quick clean-up turns into a game of pursuit as the fruit rolls this way and that; dancing along with the house and making it’s inhabitants join in the jig as well.
