Thank you for your interest in Scanlan Photography!

We are a true family unit when it comes to our photography as my parent’s and I photograph and travel to capture these windows to the world.

It all started in 1979 shortly after my parents first met and began photographing together for fun. Over the next couple of years, this new hobby became more serious. While still working full-time, they began showcasing images they had taken from their favorite spots around the United States at local art shows. Over the next couple of years, they slowly increased the number they participated in and were blown away with the support and success each show offered.

In 1984 they were finally married after a five-year courtship. In 1985, they traveled to Ireland (the Scanlan name tied us to our roots there) and they had an amazing time shooting. After they returned they found they had a whole new genre to introduce at the local festivals and they were immediately met with a hugely positive response. Those images proved to be the catalyst that finally allowed them to turn their part-time hobby into a full-time occupation.

Every year since then, my parents (and myself when I passed the toddler stage) have traveled to foreign places where our ultimate goal is to have each and every image be a symbol to that location’s peculiar significance and power - whether via its cultural history, its symbolism, or its innate beauty.

In the past few years, the stars aligned and I was blessed to find myself able to become ensconced in the business and truly learn from the best. This collaboration was brought about by wanting to add a new perspective to the world as we mix minimalism with grandeur; starkness with color, and of course continue to bring you windows to the incredible world around us.

As for myself, I developed a love for photography somewhere in college and have been pursuing that in my down-time. In 2017 I met my now husband, Jordon. Fast-forward to August of 2020 and we welcomed our son Keenan amidst the COVID craze and in 2022 we welcomed our daughter, Clare! They are both our biggest blessings and I can’t wait for them to experience the Scanlan Photography lifestyle I grew up with.
